How do you use a professional industry report? Turn manufacturer profiles, contacts and product analysis into a shortlist, a practical brief and enquiries.

A professional industry report should support a specific decision. If you plan an own-brand pet supplement, you need to know which companies to approach, which options to consider and what to include in the brief.
The value appears when collected information shortens the route to action. You do not first need to browse dozens of websites and build a contact list from scratch. You do need to use the material well and recognise its limits.
A link list provides addresses. An organised report helps explain company roles, offer scope, product formats and information sources. It also reveals gaps to clarify in conversation.
Before buying, check:
“Professional” alone does not establish quality. A sample should show how data is presented, and the product description should explain what you receive and what is excluded.
One project asks, “Who can manufacture a powder for dogs?” Another asks, “Should I retain an oil format or consider an alternative?” A third needs a testing or formulation partner.
Record the objective and essential requirements. Review the database against them. This helps identify suitable candidates rather than simply the most recognisable company.
If the level of customisation is unsettled, read Private label, white label or custom formulation?. The report and choice of cooperation model should complement each other.
For each selected company, record why it fits, which information supports that assessment and what remains unknown. For example, an offer may mention powders and own-brand manufacturing without specifying a minimum for a new formula.
Do not fill gaps intuitively. “The company has powders in its portfolio” and “the company will accept a custom order for my powder” are different findings. The second needs confirmation.
Also distinguish manufacturers from service partners. A laboratory may be important for testing but does not replace a manufacturing site. This distinction helps you send the right questions to the right contacts.
Format analysis can help select a direction for discussion: powder, paste, liquid or another option. It does not establish demand or superior effectiveness.
The presence of a format in a database reflects identified offers in the analysed set. It is not the format's share of total market sales. Frequency in the database does not necessarily make it the best option for your species, formula or channel.
In the brief, distinguish requirements driven by your concept from points needing technological verification. The manufacturer should be able to respond to specific assumptions.
Email team@foodup.com.pl. FoodUP helps develop concepts, briefs and cooperation scopes. Report access and individual consulting are different services; choose according to how much work you intend to manage yourself.
Use contacts from selected profiles. Send a consistent brief and request confirmation of technology, cooperation model, MOQ, costs and stages. Do not email the entire database simply because you have the addresses.
Record the date and status of each reply. Separate capabilities described on a website from terms confirmed for your project. A formula or packaging change may make an earlier reply no longer applicable.
Compare complete scopes rather than prices alone. Also ask about documentation, changes, responsibilities and access to development outputs.
A company profile is not a site audit. Check registration and, where applicable, approval of relevant activities against Articles 9 and 10 of Regulation 183/2005.
Likewise, a product or statement shown in an analysis does not authorise your brand to use it. Article 13 of Regulation 767/2009 sets the conditions for feed claims. Reviewing competing offers does not replace substantiation of your own statement.
The report provides working material. It does not remove the need to assess the actual formula, documents and sales arrangements.

We have carried out the information-gathering and analysis work. You select companies, prepare the brief and send enquiries. Agree production terms directly with candidates. The database also includes partners, so it is not a list of 100 qualified contract manufacturers.
