Description of the project

The client had funds for a substantial manufacturing investment and planned to purchase equipment. However, the product plan for the new infrastructure had not yet been sufficiently defined. The equipment decision therefore needed a broader perspective: what could be manufactured, which constraints arose from formulations and processes, and what additional work and costs might be required.

Our solution

We joined the project as an advisory partner, assessing potential product directions and their opportunities, risks and technical challenges. This allowed the proposed machinery purchase to be evaluated against specific applications.

We connected the client with raw material suppliers so that ingredient requirements and process optimisation opportunities could be considered during planning.

We prepared an overview of options and preliminary optimisation costs. This gave the client a basis for an informed investment decision that considered equipment, products and the processes needed to manufacture them.
